Special Opportunity Grants

The W. Clement & Jessie V. Stone Foundation has clear grantmaking strategies that cut across all program areas and strategies for each of its three program areas: early childhood, education, and youth development. However, at times, opportunities arise that complement, but don’t exactly fit, a programmatic mission or may advance the overall mission rather than one programmatic area. Other times, projects present an opportunity to make catalytic change or the project opportunity may exceed a program’s unallocated budget. As a result, the Foundation reserves funding to support such opportunities through Special Opportunity Grants. These grants reflect, support, or inform the Foundation’s grantmaking goals and objectives. Like the Foundation’s other grants, these grants are by invitation only and will be project specific.
